Synopsis

Jennifer Tree (Elisha Cuthbert) is a celebrity, a fashion icon, and is now lying unconscious on a steel frame bed, in a room with no windows. Her worst nightmares have come true. Her captor tortures her with the information he has gathered through various interviews and appearances. In a non-descript, cramped cell, she is inexplicably held hostage. On the outside, detectives Bettinger and Disantos quickly identify that they are dealing with ‘The Wasteland Killer’, in other words, they don’t have much time. A frenzied race to find the super model is on. Back in captivity, Jennifer eventually notices an adjacent cubicle with a man in it, Gary (Daniel Gillies). Together they suffer brutal torture from their captor, together they plan their escape, together they fall for one another. But, Gary has a dark secret which will shatter Jennifer’s very last illusion of hope. Director Roland Joffe masterfully weaves this sexy thriller to an explosive conclusion of raw emotions and teeth-grinding suspense up to the last minute.
